Carmel, N.Y. – 10/06/2012 –Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C) presented Justin Scavone of Carmel Troop 1 with a New York State Senate Proclamations for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

Eagle Scout is the highest possible rank in the Boy Scouts of America. The Eagle Scout is an honor that is held for life and is said “once an Eagle, always an Eagle.”

“It is a pleasure to be here today with Justin and his great family. There are only a small percent of scouts that ever make it to this ranking and I would like to congratulate him on all the hard work he has done to achieve this great honor,” said Senator Greg Ball. “Justin is a great leader that we can all be proud of. I look forward to great things from him in the future.”

For Justin’s Eagle Scout Project he built and installed three fitness stations on the fitness trail at Lakeside Park in the town of Pawling. A fitness trail is a trail that has several exercise stations along the trail. The intent is that people can either walk the trail to enjoy the outdoors or walk the trail and exercise at each station. Justin increased the trail by 450 feet by adding elliptical, skier and air walker fitness station.
