“Going into this anniversary, the sad reality is that there are those who seek to destroy the United States of America, harm innocent men, women and children and ultimately change our way of life. While we must always be prepared, on this anniversary all New Yorkers should take recent threats extremely seriously, and always remember if you see something, say something,” said Senator Greg Ball, Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee. “I commend the Department of Homeland Security, the New York City Police Department, New York City Fire Department, and other first responders who stand on the front lines of our nation’s defense. We now have credible information suggesting New York City and Washington, D.C. are potential targets for a terrorist attack on this somber anniversary. While this is not a reason to panic, we should remain vigilant and stand against those who wish to take away our freedoms,” added Chairman Ball.
