DO YOU KNOW A DISABLED VETERAN?

Friend:

I have proudly partnered with Purple Heart Homes to build a home in Putnam County for a local service connected disabled veteran. We are now seeking your support to help us locate a disabled veteran as well as a home to renovate in Putnam County.

Purple Heart Homes is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 2008 by service disabled veterans Dale Beatty and John Gallina. Mr. Beatty and Mr. Gallina were deployed to Iraq in 2004 and served together in the same unit. On November 15, 2004, an explosion from an anti tank mine hit their vehicle, and resulted in severe head and back injuries for Mr. Gallina and the loss of both legs for Mr. Beatty.

The veteran does not currently have to live in the Putnam County, but must be willing to relocate to Putnam. To qualify, veterans must have their DD214 and a service connected VA disability rating. Qualifying veterans can apply for a home by visiting the Purple Heart Homes website at: www.phhusa.org.

Those that would like to join the Purple Heart Homes Senate Task Force, or know of a home to renovate, can contact my office at (845) 279-3773 or email Krista Gobins atkgobins@nysenate.gov.

Sincerely,

Greg Ball
