Earle Bellows of Mahopac volunteered at the dinner last year and said he is back once again to show his appreciation to local veterans.
“I think it is great that we honor those who have served our country. It hits home to me because my father is a WWII veteran and my younger son currently serves our country. We can never forget our history and we always have to support our veterans,” said Bellows. “Kudos to Senator Ball, this is a great event he puts together and spearheads, I commend him and I commend all the volunteers that are involved. You actually have to see it to believe it, all the people that come out and dedicate their time for this event.”
“Every year I am honored to be part of such a special event. Seeing all these volunteers show up today brings true meaning to why we do this,” said Eugene Parotta, Chairman of Senator Ball’s Veterans’ Advisory Council. “We can’t thank Senator Ball and the Military Order Of The Purple Heart, Chapter 21 enough for working together with our community to make this day happen.”
“I think it’s a wonderful thing that is being done for the veterans. They love coming to it, they feel very special, very important, and it is important to honor them,” said Karen Greza of Cortlandt. “Senator Ball took the ball and got a lot of people rolling on the ball with him!”
In addition to volunteers, Senator Ball is also seeking donations for the Thanksgiving Dinner including: turkeys, potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, stuffing, chicken broth, stuffing, salad, dinner rolls and more.
