Brewster, N.Y. – (8/09/12) –Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson), the Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, signed up today for October’s “Tough Mudder” and is asking others to join the cause.
According to the website, “Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses, half a million inspiring participants, and more than $3 million raised for the Wounded Warrior Project, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world.”
“Never before have so few carried the weight of Democracy for so many. Our special forces, active duty, reservists and all men and women in uniform are on the front lines of protecting a freedom that many, if not most, take for granted. Honestly, I am out of shape and well beyond my days at the Air Force Academy, this is not going to be a walk in the park. This race is not going to be easy, but it sure as hell is easier than what our active duty service men and women, and those combat forces who have served from WWII until today, have gone through and go through, everyday. It is my honor to enlist in this cause, and I invite members of the community to join our motivated team!”
