BREWSTER,N.Y.–State Senator Greg Ball (R,C,I-Patterson) plans to host a Common Core Forum at Carmel Town Hall Thursday Jan. 16 where he’s expected to allow parents, teachers and concerned residents to weigh in on the controversial curriculum and discuss details about a bill he plans to introduce calling for an immediate 3-year moratorium on the new standards until issues can be resolved.
“Regardless of the good intentions, Common Core has become an Uncommon Disaster. I am hosting this Common Core Community Forum to hear firsthand from my constituents and those affected by these new standards,” Ball said. “My office has been inundated with phone calls, emails, letters and faxes from parents, teachers, students and community members that are very concerned with this new program.”
Sen. Ball has also created a “Stop Common Core” online petition.
Thursday’s forum will be held at Carmel Town Hall 60 McAlpin Avenue Mahopac, N.Y. 10541. (ARTICLE)
