JOHN CALLAGHAN OF MAHOPAC INSTALLED AS GRAND MARSHAL OF ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

Carmel, N.Y. – 02/08/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) and Sheriff Donald B. Smith joined John Callaghan and his wife Mary of Mahopac on Friday evening at Centennial Golf Club in Carmel as John was officially installed as the Grand Marshal of the Northern Westchester and Putnam County St. Patrick’s Day Parade for 2014.

John Callaghan was born in 1943 in Ireland. He immigrated to the United States in 1964 and begun his career at the New York Telephone Company. In 1965 he was drafted to the United States Army where we served with the 4th Army Division in Vietnam, earning the rank of Sergeant. In 1975 John joined the Emerald Association of Putnam County where he has held varies elected roles; he currently serves as the Chairperson of the Welfare Committee and the Scholarship Committee.

The 36th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on March 9th in Mahopac starting at 2 PM. This year the parade will be dedicated to the American flag. The Grand Marshal Trophy will be awarded to the participant with the best American flag display or theme.
