KENNEDY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL HOSTS ROBOTICS COMPETITION

First Tech Challenge Robotics

Somers, N.Y. – 01/26/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) joined 24 student robotic teams from across the Hudson Valley, Long Island, upstate New York and Connecticut as they competed on Saturday for six spots to the FIRST Tech Challenge Hudson Valley Championship hosted at Pace University on Sunday, February 16.

The FIRST Tech Challenge is an accessible, challenging robotics competition for students of high school age. Students design and build a robot using aluminum, polycarbonate, motors and servos, sensors, and a variety of other materials. Each year teams are challenged with a new game. At events, teams play a series of matches, each time being partnered with a different team. At the end of the qualifying matches, the best teams choose their partners for the elimination rounds.
