Sen. Greg Ball, R-Patterson, has been given the “Highest Conservative Rating Award,” the second consecutive year he was bestowed that honor.
The rating is based on the legislator’s votes related to 20 pieces of legislation, according to information from Ball’s office.
“We are happy to give this award to Sen. Greg Ball for the second year in a row. Senator Ball has held up the values of the Conservative Party and continues to do so,” said Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long. “I look forward to continuing to work closely with Senator Ball and hope that his fellow legislators follow his lead this legislative year.”
Ball said he was honored to receive the award.
“Chairman Long continues to be an exceptional conservative leader in a very liberal state and being presented this award two years in a row from such a conservative hero is humbling,” Ball said. “As a grassroots candidate, I have won some very tough elections by remaining true to my core and always being able to rely upon my hardworking, patriotic base of supporters, I accept this award for them and in their honor.”
Of the 20 pieces of legislation state lawmakers were judged on, 10 passed both the Senate and Assembly and 10 passed the Senate only. Ball received a ranking of 90 out of 100, the highest score awarded this year. Sen. George Maziarz, R-Newfane, also scored a 90, according to Ball’s office. (ARTICLE)
