Last night, the entire Hudson Valley Region was hit with an unusual, late October snowstorm that dropped over a foot of snow in many areas across the region. The incredible weight from the heavy snow and ice caused many trees to fall, and in many cases, they fell on power lines, causing widespread power outages across the region.
A state of emergency has been put in place for in thirteen New York Counties including; Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties.
As of 12:15 AM, October 30th, NYSEG is reporting the following power outages by county:
Putnam County: 32,103
Dutchess County: 11,462
Westchester County: 30,011

Many of our major roadways including Route 84 and the Taconic Parkway have been covered by fallen trees, making them very dangerous for driving. Please be safe during this storm and please stay off the roads to allow our first responders and the power companies to work to restore power and to respond to emergencies throughout our region.
