Lewisboro’s Receiver of Taxes and former deputy supervisor Joann Vasi and former Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps president and South Salem postal worker Laurie Gagliardi will be honored with a Woman of Distinction Award at a ceremony at 6 on Friday, March 30, at the Putnam County Emergency Services Building in Carmel. Ms. Gagliardi’s recognition will be posthumous.

Over the past several months, State Senator Greg Ball, 40th District, has traveled to towns, villages and cities within his district to accept nominations for his district-wide Women Of Distinction Hall of Fame.

Created and hosted by Sen. Ball, the Women Of Distinction Hall of Fame was designed to honor outstanding women from throughout the 40th Senate District. Each town within the district had been asked to nominate a woman to be honored.

Town Supervisor Peter Parsons made the nominations in February.

Former Congresswoman Sue Kelly will attend the ceremony and will be making opening remarks. In addition to Ms. Kelly, each town and village will have a representative from their board on hand to honor each woman of distinction. (ARTICLE)
