MAHOPAC – State Sen. Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) is teaming up with Operation Prom to help students attend the prom by offering designer prom dresses for only $1. The prom dress sale will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on April 6 at Villa Barone Hilltop Manor.

Prom dresses will be available from designers such as Ralph Lauren, Jovani, The Dressy Group, BCBG, Dressbarn, Night Moves by Allure and others. Students who would like to attend must visit www.OperationPROM.org to pre-register. On the dress application page, choose Putnam County, NY.

According to their mission statement, Operation Prom provides resources, opportunity and mentoring to students in need. Services are available to children in financial need, those who are homeless, sick, or disabled. School supplies and scholarships are available in addition to Operation Prom’s regular donations of prom dresses and tuxedos.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will provide safety messages to young people and remind them about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, drinking and driving, drug impaired driving and distracted driving.

Several local beauty and pageant queens will participate in the event: Mrs. New York America Melissa Luiso, Mrs. Westchester County Jennifer Czarniecki, Miss Italia Peekskill Nadia Manginelli and Miss Cinco de Mayo Peekskill Arianna Memoli. (ARTICLE)
