Brewster, N.Y. – (1/27/12) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) successfully secured $100,000 for the Brewster Central School District, which will be used to help offset costs for badly needed renovations to the outdoor track at Brewster High School. Senator Ball will present the school district with a $100,000 check on January 28, 2012 at 7:15 p.m. at the Brewster Sports Foundation 2012 Gala.

“In this economy, it’s critical that we do not pass this type of expense onto homeowners,” said Senator Ball. “I also know that the lessons learned on the athletic field are just as important as those learned in the classroom. I support this investment and will continue pushing for projects that make our communities strong.”

The track is estimated to cost $250,000, and Brewster Sports Foundation President John Frates said they plan to raise the rest of the money through private fundraising.

“On behalf of the Brewster Sports Foundation I would like to thank Senator Ball,” Frates said. “We are honored to participate with Senator Ball in utilizing state funds along with private funds to restore the outdoor track at Brewster High School.”
