BREWSTER – State Senator Gregory Ball (R, Patterson) is joining with the Purple Heart Homes organization to remodel the home of a local Vietnam war veteran.

Ball is chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee.  He said they will upgrade the home of Private Daniel Flanigan, a 100 percent service-connected disabled Vietnam veteran who lives in Pawling.

“It’s very sad to the point where he doesn’t even have a shower than he can use in his own home,” Ball said.  “So, we are coming together as a community. We need volunteers, we need donors. We are going to fix it. We are going to totally and completely renovate his home and do what America should have done all along.”

Renovations will begin in June; work is expected to take at least four months. (ARTICLE)
