Brewster, N.Y. – (8/30/12) – For the second consecutive year, Senator Greg Ball (R, C-Patterson) received the highest pro-business grade from the Business Council of New York State for his support of key job-creating legislation. The Business Council released their 2012 scorecard last week.

“Sustainable job creation is my number one priority,” Senator Ball said. “Whether it’s the New Jobs-NY Job Creation Plan, the repeal of the MTA Payroll Tax, or Public-Private Partnership legislation, as a member of the Senate Majority, I am working every day in a bi-partisan effort with our Governor to get government out of the way for business owners so they can do what they do best, which is create jobs.”

The news of Senator Ball’s top ranking from the Business Council came on the eve of his Public-Private Partnership Roundtable. The roundtable focused on Sen. Ball’s proposed public-private partnership legislation, which is intended to enhance the procurement of public infrastructure improvements and to encourage economic development and job creation.

John Ravitz, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Business Council of Westchester said he was pleased to see Sen. Ball’s pro-business agenda.

“Senator Ball’s voting record is an example of how government can help businesses, not hurt them,” Ravitz said. “Senator Ball is a legislator who understands that he needs a strong line of communication with businesses throughout Westchester County, and he has demonstrated that by hosting numerous roundtable discussions and meetings.”

The Business Council rated the Senate on 10 bills, including spending control, an investment in solar energy, job creation incentives, and mandate relief.
