***MEDIA ADVISORY***
***Thursday, October 11th at 1:00 PM***

Brewster, N.Y. – 10/08/2012 – Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C) along with the Business Council of Westchester will host their third Public-Private Partnership Roundtable on Thursday, October 11th from 1:00PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt. Kisco Library.

Thursday’s meeting will highlight the need to be labor friendly, during a roundtable discussion on the benefits of employing public-private partnerships to finance, design, build, and manage public infrastructure projects in New York. During the roundtable meeting, we will hear from five leading experts in the area of social infrastructure public-private partnerships.

Furthermore, the participants will be giving feedback on proposed public-private partnership legislation to ensure that it satisfies the concerns of all stakeholders including labor, business and public sectors.

According to a report by the National Conference of State Legislatures: “In this difficult economic environment, public-private partnerships have been increasingly studied and pursued by state policymakers as one alternative method, among others, to procure transportation infrastructure improvements. Such partnerships combine a leveraged mix of public and private dollars to better bridge the gap between transportation needs and the financial resources available to meet those needs.”

The five experts include:

  • Mr. Richard Norment, Executive Director, National Council for Public Private Partnerships
  • Joseph J. Bracchitta, Chief Administrative Officer, Yonkers Public Schools
  • Patrick J. Flinn, Managing Director, Public Institutions Group, Jones Lang LaSalle
  • Frank M. Rapoport, Partner – New York, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP
  • Mr. George K. Miller, Partner, Mayer Brown LLP
