SENATOR BALL DROPS PUCK WITH FORMER NY RANGER FOR FREE DAY OF CHILDREN’S HOCKEY

Brewster, N.Y. – 12/27/2012 – Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C, I) joined former New York Rangers Defenseman and NHL All-Star, Ron Greschner at the Brewster Ice Arena for the New York Rangers, ‘Try Hockey For Free’ event.

The event is part of an ongoing grassroots partnership between the New York Rangers, USA Hockey and the Brewster Ice Arena to provide memorable, quality recreational opportunities for families in the local community.

The day of fun gave over 200 children the chance to get on the ice, pick up a stick and participate in a beginner lesson at no cost. ‘Try Hockey For Free’ is part of a larger effort by the New York Rangers and USA Hockey that is providing more than 1,700 children across the tri-state area the opportunity to try hockey for free and help reduce the barriers of entry into the sport.
