Valhalla, N.Y. – (7/25/12) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) and his staff hosted a free community BBQ on Thursday night in the hamlet of Hawthorne, in an effort to meet constituents in the new parts of his district.

The new 40th senate district will pick up the towns of Mount Pleasant and New Castle while losing Bedford, western Putnam County and much of Dutchess County. Click here to see a map of the new 40th senate district.

“Meeting with constituents is the best part of my job! I look forward to representing the wonderful people I met here today and all of the residents in Mt. Pleasant and New Castle,” said Senator Ball. “ From repealing the MTA Payroll Tax to capping Property Taxes we have accomplished many great things by working with Governor Cuomo, in a bipartisan and effective fashion. I’m totally focused on finishing the good things I have started and remaining focused to get New York State back on track!”

The BBQ gave residents a chance to meet Senator Greg Ball and to also ask any questions they might have.

“It’s so important for Senator Ball and our elected officials to host events similar to this,” said Rose Tojzan. “It is key that we have a Senator who will represent us and listen to our concerns. I wish him a lot of luck and think he will do very well.”

I thought it was excellent. I learned a lot of new things and am very impressed by Senator Ball,” said Stan Majdanski, Mount Pleasant resident and recently retired postal worker of 41 years. “I think this is wonderful, I am glad I was able to come this evening.”

Senator Ball will be hosting a series free community BBQ’s in the weeks to come to continue to meet the residents in his new district.
