Ball: Illegal Immigration Is Illegal

Albany, N.Y. – 03/17/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on the New York State Senate’s vote on the DREAM Act.

“Illegal immigration is illegal. Providing tuition assistance to those that are here illegally is simply unreasonable. We have millions of New Yorkers wondering how they heck they are going to pay for student loans and help their children go to college. Meanwhile, legislators in Albany want to use taxpayer dollars to fund college tuition for illegal aliens. The DREAM Act is a slap in the face to hardworking New Yorkers and immigrants that are here legally, paying taxes and doing it the right way. In a world of finite resources, New York State should be focused on creating jobs, cutting taxes and streamlining the path the citizenship, not handing out tax payer dollars to illegal aliens,” said Senator Greg Ball.
