SENATOR BALL ISSUES STATEMENT ON PASSING OF SOMERS RESIDENT, WWII VETERAN STEPHEN MORAVICK

Senator Ball and Mr. Moravick

Brewster, N.Y. – 03/27/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on the passing of Somers resident Stephen M. Moravick, Sr.

“This is a very sad time for myself, everyone in my office, and all those that had the honor of knowing Mr. Moravick. He was a very kind gentleman with a huge heart and an even bigger smile. I had the distinct pleasure of inducting Mr. Moravick into the 40th Senate District Veterans Hall of Fame in 2011. He was part of ‘The Greatest Generation’ serving in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre, earning the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the European Theatre Medal, and the Purple Heart with Cluster for his service. During this very difficult time, my heart goes out to his wife of over 60 years, Rose, his children Stephanie, Stephen Jr., Suzy, and his three grandchildren.”
