Carmel, N.Y.  – (3/8/12) – On Thursday, Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) surprised the Carmel Senior Citizens at their daily lunch with a large cake from Brewster Pastries.

“I love the opportunity to spend time with the seniors in my community! I always have so much fun and learn so much,” said Senator Ball. “I am working to secure needed funding for meal programs and senior programs throughout the district, I’m fighting to freeze school taxes for seniors and constantly working to support the concerns of individual constituents throughout my district.”

The Putnam County Office For The Aging is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering seniors a hot nutritious noontime meal and transportation for those who need it. Anyone that would like to participate should contact the Office For the Aging at (845) 808-1700.

Ronald Wargas, the Ambassador of The Carmel Senior Community Center said, “I sent Senator Ball a letter to have him help me with a Veterans issue. He answered the letter and immediately took care of the issue. [Senator Ball] is here for the Veteran’s.” Ronald went on to say, “It is great to see government official’s, like Senator Ball, come by to listen to our concerns.”

“I am very pleased with the frequency that Senator Ball has been here to visit,” said Carmel senior, Betty Regensburg. “It is very gratifying to know that he is on top of everything.
