Mahopac, N.Y. – 01/06/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) joined Shane Spencer, former New York Yankee and 3 time World Series champion, at the ribbon cutting for Iron Horse Sports & Fitness Complex in Mahopac.
The Iron Horse Sports & Fitness Complex is an indoor sports facility geared for all sports. The facility is equipped with 5 batting cages, pitching machines, major league baseball instructors, camps, clinics, private lessons and much more.
“I was delighted to join Tim O’Keefe at the Grand Opening of the Iron Horse Sports & Fitness Complex. I would like to personally welcome Tim’s new business to our community and wish him the best of luck with his new endeavor. Iron Horse is a beautiful facility, I urge sports enthusiasts to stop by to check it out,” said Senator Greg Ball. “New York State has to do a better job at cutting red tape and regulations to make this process easier for job creators like Tim.”
“I am extremely humbled by the turnout and response to the Iron Horse S&FC Grand Opening. I started dreaming of building an indoor facility here in Mahopac as I grew up here playing baseball. Although I love winter I knew once November came I wouldn’t be swinging a bat again until April. Iron Horse caters not only caters to baseball, it caters to all sports and is a place the entire community can benefit from. The 2 people I want to thank the most are my 2 children Maya 8 and Jeremy 6. They have been so wonderful and patient from the first day I told them I was going to do it. They sat through coaches meetings, visited different locations, allowed me time to be on the phone and most of all were the 2 people that supported me the most. Unfortunately, they weren’t there Saturday. To thank them, I bought them a trip to the place where dreams come true for helping and supporting me while I made mine come true,” said Tim O’Keefe, owner of the Iron Horse Sports & Fitness Complex. “It was an absolute honor and Id like to thank both 3 time NY Yankee world series champion Shane Spencer and NYS Senator Greg Ball for coming to support my grand opening. I look forward to working with both of them in the near future as Iron Horse S&FC looks to do bigger and better things.”
“It’s wonderful to see another local business decide to open their doors in the BIG small town of Mahopac, let along Putnam County,” said Mike Bucci, CEO/ Executive Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce (GMCCC). “We at the GMCCC want to thank the Iron Horse and their dedication to impacting the youth in the area by being great examples of leaders and entrepreneurs – let alone teaching them how to become better athletes.”
Also photographed are children that attended the Grand Opening for a lesson from the former Yankee, Yorktown Councilman Terrence Murphy and Lou Cardillo, among others.
