SENATOR BALL JOINS ‘TOP CHEF’ TV STAR PADMA LAKSHMI TO LAUNCH TEEN HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

891971_10151369309715847_604936071_oAlbany, N.Y. – (3/20/13) –Senator Greg Ball (R,C,I-Patterson) met with Food Network TV Star Padma Lakshmi in the New York State Senate Chambers in Albany.

The Top Chef host was in Albany to help kick off a Teen Health Awareness Campaign and to advocate on behalf of her charitable organization, Endometriosis Foundation of America. The foundation was established to help fight the disease which affects more 176 million women and girls worldwide.

“It was an honor to meet Ms. Lakshmi in Albany. I applaud her for all the work she is doing to help improve the lives of the millions of women and girls affected by this disease worldwide,” said Senator Greg Ball.

The Teen Health Awareness Campaign is focusing on reducing adolescent obesity, educating students about the health consequences of short and long-term alcohol and substance abuse, and raising awareness among young women and health professionals about endometriosis.
