Brewster, N.Y. – (2/4/2012) – On Saturday, February 4, Senator Ball (R, C-Patterson) traveled to Croton Point Park to present a check for $20,000 toward the continued funding and support of the Hudson Valley’s annual Eaglefest.

The event brings together 30 different public and private collaborators to celebrate the Hudson Valley’s bald eagle population.  The event included guided viewing tours, bus tours, storytelling from award-winning storytellers, and eagle-themed children’s programs and activities.

“Our heartfelt gratitude to Senator Ball for helping to secure the funding for this incredible tradition,” said Dianne Barron, Executive Director of Teatown Lake Reservation and one of the collaborators involved in the development of the event’s programming.  “The expenses are a huge hurdle for the continued success of this event, and we’re very literally soaring over this generous contribution.”

Senator Ball spent the day talking with constituents and supports and watching the eagles take flight over the Hudson River.

“I’m very happy to have had a part in the continued success of this event,” said Senator Ball.  “It’s a great opportunity for the kids to come out here and learn about the bald eagle, get to see these amazing birds in action.”
