Brewster, N.Y. – (12/14/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) presented the Town of Patterson with a $1 million check on Thursday afternoon in front of the new Patterson Court House. Senator Ball successfully secured $1 million from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) for the construction of the Patterson Court House, which he says is a home run for Patterson tax payers.
“Had these dollars been lost, the taxpayers of the Town of Patterson would have been forced to absorbe this debt,” Senator Ball said. “Its critically important that all levels of government work together to cut taxes and create jobs.”
Senator Ball was joined by Town of Patterson Councilman Joseph Capasso, Councilman Ed O’Connor and Council Member Virginia Nacerino for the check presentation. Nacerino and Capsso said they are thrilled that the state fulfilled its commitment to the taxpayers of the Town of Patterson and reimbursed the $1 million court house construction costs.
“I would like to thank Senator Greg Ball for pursuing this for the Town of Patterson. This is a win for the taxpayers,” Nacerino said. “I would also like to thank our Town Planner Rich Williams for pursuing this. We’re so glad this came to fruition.”
“This definitely helps the taxpayers in the Town of Patterson.,” Capasso said. “This will defer the tax increase until that grant is used up to cover the cost of the court house.”
