Albany, N.Y. – (6/24/13) – Senator Greg Ball (R,C,I-Patterson) has honored Drew Podgorski for his efforts during his internship at the New York State Senate. Drew has been an intern with Senator Ball since August of 2012.

“Balancing school and work, Drew comes to my office every day after school, and has worked as late as 10 pm while maintaining A grades in school and participating in leadership positions in school activities, including being the Student Manager of Brewster’s Varsity Football and Basketball teams,” said Senator Greg Ball. “If you personally sit with 1000 young men and women, you will not meet a single one with the combined character, intelligence, ability and work ethic of Drew Podgorski – he is 1 in 1000.”

“It has been an honor to be an intern for Senator Ball this past year. I have learned more than I could have ever imagined,” said Drew Podgorski. “Working for the Senator has been an incredible experience that has made a profound impact on my future.”

Drew recently graduated Brewster High School as a member of the class of 2013 and will be attending Macaulay Honors College at CUNY this fall.  He was awarded an Army ROTC scholarship and will be a Cadet at CUNY Army ROTC, a program which will be re-started for the first time since 1971. Drew will be majoring in International Justice with a minor in Arabic and plans on pursuing a career in the Intelligence or Federal Criminal Justice Community after his military service.
