Tax-And-Spend Murphy’s Albany Handlers Shoot Own Candidate in the Foot … Again

Ball Condemns Albany Insanity and Refuses Per Diem
8/3/2010 – In a Press Release issued by Tax-And-Spend Murphy’s Albany handlers, the insiders who control her campaign once again shot their candidate in the foot by failing to check their facts. Assemblyman Greg Ball today released the following statement in response to the career politician’s attempted smear campaign:
“Tax-and-Spend Murphy’s handlers are either once again throwing their handpicked puppet on the back of my bandwagon or they need to do their homework. Because in response to last week’s 30-second clown show where session was held but nothing was done, I refused my per diem, even as most other legislators collected. But the larger point is that these negative and personal attacks and her slanderous hit pieces and push polls continue as New York is burning. This is pure politics, not constructive leadership.
“While I live paycheck to paycheck, my opponent has billed the residents of Somers for a 40-percent pay increase to raise their taxes by over 60 percent, deplete their fund balance, and expose them to the disastrous Affordable Housing Settlement. The people know better. A career politician and attorney, Tax-and-spend Murphy increased her own salary by 40 percent, and is now playing political games. I made a promise in 2006 to forgo all outside income as an Assemblyman, to avoid conflicts of interest. Unlike my wealthy opponent being backed by corrupting Albany insiders, I live in a small 600 square foot cabin and have not been paid in 4 months. My hotel costs $120 and gas is about $60. I’m losing money everytime I go to dysfunctional Albany, the land that commonsense forgot, and if it were not for my local priest making me a small loan I would be behind on my mortgage. These political attacks are shameless and desperate and her smear campaign continues.”
