Senator Greg Ball and the Military Order Of The Purple Heart, Chapter 21 are gearing up for the 3rd Annual Veterans’ Thanksgiving Dinner and need your help.
Over the past two years, Ball, chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, has worked with the community to host an annual Thanksgiving dinner for local veterans. Last year hundreds of veterans attended the free dinner hosted at Putnam National Golf Club.
This November’s dinner promises to be bigger than ever. Volunteers and donations are both needed to help make the free meal possible.
“This wonderful event couldn’t be possible without the help of local scouts, school groups, sports teams and hundreds of volunteers that turn out each year. I urge anyone that wants to give back to those that gave so much to us, to join us at our first volunteer meeting,” said Ball. “To see the smile on the vets’ faces as they walk into the room, makes the dinner worth it every year.”
The first Thanksgiving Dinner Volunteer meeting will be held Thursday, August 22nd at 7 PM, at the Putnam County Golf Course, located at 187 Hill Street, Mahopac. Anyone interested in volunteering or donating goods is asked to contact Ball’s office at (845) 279-3773 or firstname.lastname@example.org. (ARTICLE)
