Somers, N.Y. – 9/24/2012 – Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C) is happy to announce, that as a result of a three-way agreement between the Governor, Senate and Assembly, a total of $100,000 in the form of bullet aid grants have been distributed to Somers Central School District.
Senator Greg Ball and the Somers Central School District Board of Education hosted a ceremonial check presentation this past Monday at the Somers Middle School.
“In this tough economy our school districts need every penny and I couldn’t be happier to deliver this $100,000 grant for the Somers School District. The teachers and staff in Somers work so hard for the kids and it is a great community! I am proud to fight to bring as much of our tax money back from Albany, to home, where it belongs,” said Senator Greg Ball. “As long as I am in office I will continue to fight for the residents of Somers and all for all the constituents I represent.”
Raymond Blanch, The Somers Central School District Superintendent said the money would be used to fund wireless internet technology upgrades.
“We will be using this grant money to help with our technology infrastructure, specifically upgrading our network system to handle wireless internet,” said Superintendent Raymond Blanch. “This is part of a multiple year plan allowing us to provide 21st century technology access to our kids.” (ARTICLE)
