Josh Fox is one of the world’s leading experts on hydrofracking and that’s not because he’s a scientist, geologist, gas industry analyst or politician. Rather, he’s an Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker of“GasLand”, a movie that exposes the truths behind the largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in U.S. history.
If you haven’t seen this documentary be prepared to wake from a long dark dream in a shivering, cold sweat. This is scary shit!
After watching it you’ll be more inclined to do what I did today — watch hours of testimony from economists, victims, doctors and environmental activists in a library room in Katonah, Westchester County.
Non-partisan Republican Senator, Greg Ball stepped up to the plate and initiated the hearing, one that attracted media from Long Island, NYC and the Capital Region. Stories included horrifying health results, lighting faucet water on fire, shrinking property values, smear campaigns, threats and lies, mud blowouts that caused a fathers death and so much more.
P.S. In case you’ve been living under a rock (pun intended), hydraulic fracturing or ‘fracking’ is the much-debated natural gas technique that uses a high-pressure mix of water and chemicals to blast open shale formations and release gas.
I’ll let you see the movie for the technical definition but in the meantime, here’s a sample of insight from the world’s most qualified ambassador on why the F-word is so evil. (VIDEO)
